Common Questions

What does a Youth/Adult Mentor actually do?

Mentors help people with disabilities learn new skills and get involved in their community. You might help with life skills, visit local parks, or just be a steady friend and role model.

Do I need special training before I start?

Yes, we provide full training and ongoing support. You do not need to be an expert on day one; we will teach you everything you need to know to be a safe and successful mentor.

Where does the mentoring take place?

Mentoring usually happens in the community or at the person's home. You might go to the library, a grocery store, or a local event to help your mentee practice independence.

Can I choose my own schedule?

We try to be as flexible as possible. While some mentees have specific needs, we often match mentors based on when both people are available to meet.

Is this role available as a part-time job?

Yes, many of our mentor roles are part-time. It is a great way to make a difference while balancing other commitments like school or another job.
